Liz Duran Boubion and Karla Quintero, members of FLACC’s artist-led production company, Piñata Dance Collective, co-directed a site-specific quintet at the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive. Bridges & Bones is based on the 2019 festival theme “Bridges & Bones/Puentes Y Huesos” . By exploring physical and social possibilities with large moveable objects in the museum’s Atrium, the dancers build physical bridges through movement and connection, inviting the wisdom of their ancestors to live within their bones and experimenting with audience participation as borders are opened and new spaces are defined. Collaborators include: Aldair Rivera, René Alvarez, Dominique Nigro and Shareen De Ryan.
